Who am I...
For more than 35 years, I have worked in the Chicago area as a decorative interior designer and an independent project consultant specializing in decorative finishes, custom drapery, furnishings, and residential renovation coordination. Rather than acting as a general contractor, my role has always been centered on organizing projects, assembling the right specialists for each phase of work, and helping homeowners navigate the renovation process with clarity and confidence. By working with highly skilled trades and specialty firms, we create projects that are carefully coordinated, efficiently scheduled, and tailored to the unique needs of each home.
Alan and I have also restored three properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places, each requiring extensive renovation beginning from the ground up. These projects demanded a deep respect for original architectural details while modernizing the homes behind the walls with the best plumbers, electricians, flooring specialists, drywall professionals, and craftsmen available. This experience has given us a unique understanding of how successful projects come together — from organizing bids and evaluating contractors to developing realistic timelines and comprehensive budgets.
As independent project consultants, we help homeowners take charge of their renovation projects and feel confident in the decisions they make and the professionals they hire. We assist clients in organizing the bidding process, comparing estimates, and breaking large projects into manageable and easily understandable phases. For homeowners who may not “speak construction” but still want to remain informed and in control of their project, we provide experienced guidance, organization, and support from beginning to end. Our goal is to help clients maximize their renovation budget, avoid costly mistakes, and achieve the best possible outcome while keeping their project on schedule and moving forward with confidence.
