Lisle Kitchen Island
In this newly updated kitchen we rearranged the appliances for better flow of preparation. We also changed the ceiling profile significantly which allowed us to add recessed lights and rope lighting in the crown molding profile which enhanced the type and amount of light in the kitchen. Removing the cooktop from the island and putting it where the Sub-Zeros were and shifting the refrigerator and freezer to a wall that was previously cabinetry cleared the island of clutter and opened the air space above for additional lighting. The island houses dishwasher drawers and rollouts for pots and pans as well as a trash caddy. The far-right corner cabinet features a system that keeps the corner from being dead space. The backsplash is a unique size of 3” X 12” tile laid in a herringbone pattern. The long cabinet handles by Hafele feature a twist in the metal adding an interesting play of light on the metal. The flooring is bamboo, a sustainable material that continues into the adjacent family room.
